AC Shelby Cobra 260 289 cast oil pan sump COBRA POWERED BY FORD used

Cast aluminium (aluminum) oil pan sump for small block Ford 260 289 302. COBRA POWERED BY FORD lettering cast into sides, to match correct style valve covers. Very rare with this lettering - most currently available have only COBRA cast in. I do not know if this is an original Shelby aftermarket casting or not, but it is clearly an old part and has been used. The casting is of good quality, and there are no damaged areas or modifications evident.

There is a threaded boss for an oil temperature sensor in the lower section. The casting will not fit over a Canton windage tray, but I do not know if it will fit over other makes. Some early cast sump pans were not quite correct at the rear main bearing fit, I believe due to a drawing error. These pans can still be used but care must be taken to seal the rear section.

I do not know if this is one of the early pans or not, but although I have not fitted it, it has clearly seen some use. Any necessary correction of the fit is at the purchaser's risk.
